Custom Made Streamer Sticks for Weddings

Besides officiating and playing harp and flute in weddings, we also make beautiful, custom-made streamer sticks! Flower girls, wedding party and guests all love waving and swirling the dyed ribbons in the air.

Jennifer dyes our silk ribbons with natural ingredients. Rick crafts the wood sticks and coats with organic beeswax. Lengths of sticks and ribbons, as well as the quantity and colors of ribbons vary depending on the wedding.

The pictures in this post feature some recent weddings from across the U.S. that have used our streamer sticks! Also make beautiful gifts for children, birthdays, classrooms and parades. Custom orders available through our Etsy shop (send us a convo!): www.syrendell.etsy.com.

Streamer Wands for a Wedding!

We had the pleasure of creating these wonderful streamer wands for a wedding. We can just imagine the joy of those attending the ceremony as they wave their streamers to bless the newlyweds! In feng shui, colorful ribbons and flags may be placed near a home and as they move to gentle breezes, it is said that they capture and stir the nurturing chi energy. For a wedding, the fluttering streamers would certainly call the energies of love, sensuality, and happiness. As for a child, well, there's just something infinitely cool and captivating when a simple circular motion of the arm creates a lively, shimmery, ribbony trail.

We made the sticks of poplar, cut to seven inch lengths. An earlier prototype of our streamer wand had a metal eyelet screwed to the top of the stick for the ribbons, but in our new design, we carved a subtle dual concavity and drilled a hole for the ribbons to loop through - a safer, more elegant design!

The ribbons are of silk strips that we naturally hand-dyed - oh so pretty! Streamer wands - from weddings to playtime to enhancing chi, ribbons on a stick go a long way!

Vendors We Love!

Finding the right DJ, coordinator or photographer is extremely important to the bride and groom. Now that we've been in the Sacramento area for a year and a half, we have worked with a variety of vendors at weddings.

Our website now features a page of recommended vendors. These are people we have seen in action, and we highly recommend their services! Please visit their websites, and when you contact them, let them know that you were referred by us.

Where should I have my wedding?

Wedding at a Winery

Indoors...Outdoors...Church...Beach...Winery...Golf Course...Home....

There are so many different places to have your wedding!

Wedding in Common Area of Housing Tract with Waterfall

Outdoor weddings are lovely. Be sure to have an indoors back-up plan, just in case of inclement weather. If there is wind, candlelighting and sand ceremonies might be tricky. Wind can also affect the bride's veil. Be sure to check the position of the sun for your specific time of day (might need an almanac if your wedding is months away!). If it will be hot, consider having parasols or fans available for guests, and only seating the guests 5 minutes before the wedding begins. If the location is near a beach, creek or lake, consider having wheelchairs, golf carts or people to assist elderly guests. Forewarn guests to wear appropriate shoes if they will be walking through a forest or sand! Some parks need reservations and some require fees and permits.

Homes are another wonderful choice. Whether indoors or out, be sure to let all of the neighbors know about possible noise, extra cars in the street, music, and your time frame. Even if the wedding is in your own home, allow a coordinator or friends to organize, set-up and take down everything. Check with your city to see if a noise permit is needed.

Churches are beautiful! Ask the church contact person if they have restrictions, such as no flower petals on the floor, candles, certain types of music, and if you can bring your own officiant or not.

Wedding by a Lake
Wineries and golf courses are popular choices and many of them have their own coordinators. Check to be sure that the time and day you select does not conflict with other events at the location. Golfers, tourists, and wine tasters may be close by. See if you can observe another wedding or get a tour of the location to get an idea of people and noise. Select vendors from their recommended list, as they know which DJs and other vendors work well at their location!

And....if in doubt, ask your officiant for recommendations. Officiants have seen everything and have been everywhere! They will give you honest advice about locations that will make your wedding day perfect.
